A lot of people get confused when Skin Conditions and Skin Types are brought up by Therapists. Many do not know the difference between these! In this post I will briefly explain the difference between Skin Types and Skin Conditions and why it is important to understand the difference between the two.
Why is it Important to Understand the Difference Between Skin Types and Skin Conditions?
It is SO important to understand the difference between skin types and conditions as it can really affect how you look at and treat your skin, and change the way we see what is achievable in FIXING or CHANGING and what we need to learn to CONTROL.
So what is Skin Type?
A Skin Type is what you are born with. For example, it can be oily, dry, or a combination of both. We cannot change our skin type however, we can use beauty products and facials to control our skin type, to create the illusion of the ‘perfect’ and ‘flawless’ skin.
And what about Skin Condition?
A Skin Condition is a change within the skin that we can correct. It could be dehydration, pigmentation or sensitized skin. We can fix, or change these conditions through the use of topical beauty products, advanced facials, peels, facial machinery, internal supplements, and diet.
