Continuing on with the series of articles on the NEW skincare line! IMAGE Skincare Facial Treatments now available at the Balwyn salon of Luminescence Beauty Therapies, in this article beauty therapist Claire discusses the Signature Facelift.
What is the Signature Facelift?
The Signature Facelift is appropriate for ALL skin types, specifically redness prone, dry, dehydrated, and sensitive skins. It is known as a ‘4 layer peel’ as there are 4 different layers applied to the skin during the lifting treatment. It includes the Signature Facelift Peel solution, which contains a high amount of Vitamin C, enzymes and Hydroxy-acids to accelerate cell turnover and cell renewal. Cantella stem cells help to support redness prone skin and the high amount of antioxidants and botanical complexes will leave you with noticeable results after just one treatment!
The first step – Consultation
This facial begins just like every other treatment, with a thorough consultation. Once your skin health has been discussed with your therapist, you will be taken into the treatment room and talked through how to prepare for the treatment. Once in the treatment bed (which is heated and super cosy, by the way!) a heat pack will be placed on your abdomen and any adjustments made to the bed to make sure you’re super comfortable.
A thorough cleanse will be performed using the Ageless Total Facial Cleanser, which is a universal cleanser containing glycolic acid and a blend of citric acids to provide a deeper clean and mild exfoliation. Your therapist will also have a closer look at your skin during this time to ensure that there are no contraindications that will affect the continuation of your treatment. The therapist will also briefly discuss the condition of your skin with you and run through the next stages of the facial.
A degreasing solution will be wiped over the face using a small piece of gauze to remove any excess oils and prepare the skin for the peel solution. This may feel a bit tingly.
Application of the 4 Layer Peel
Next, the Signature Facelift solution is applied to the entire face area. This peel contains a blend of Vitamin C, Hyaluronic acid, fruit enzymes, cantella stem cells, a range of essential oils, brightening agents and antioxidants in an aloe vera gel base. You may feel a prickling sensation upon application, but this should dull down as time goes on. This will be massaged into the skin for 1 minute.
The next layer to be applied will be the Ageless Total Resurfacing Masque, which contains a blend of AHA’s and BHA’s, Vitamin C, Papaya enzymes and Hyaluronic Acid. It also contains small granules to help manually exfoliate the skin as this is massaged in for a further minute.
The third layer of the peel is another thin layer of the Signature FaceLift Solution, which is applied and massaged in for another minute.
The last layer to be applied is the Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Masque, which will have more of a cooling effect on the skin. This contains Vitamin C, Hyaluronic acid, vitamin A, Vitamin E, Papaya and Pineapple enzymes. This is massaged in for 1 minute, before leaving all 4 layers on the skin for a further 5 minutes. It is then removed with sponges and warmish water until all tingling and activity on the skin has stopped. Your beauty therapist will have a look under the maggi lamp and perform any necessary extractions at this point.
Finishing Product Application and Home Aftercare
To finish the treatment, a hyaluronic acid facial enhancer is mixed with the Vital C Hydrating anti-aging serum and massaged into the face and decolletage, along with the Vital C Hydrating eye recovery gel, moisturiser and lip treatment. Your therapist will then go through your home care routine and any aftercare instructions that you may need.
