Over the last few weeks Claire of Luminescence Beauty Therapies has been discussing the exciting NEW skincare line! IMAGE Skincare Facial Treatments now available at the Balwyn Beauty Salon. In this article today, Claire will be discussing the ‘Antioxidant Facial’, the last on the New Facial Treatments series of posts!
What is the Antioxident Facial?
By combining Vitamin C with correcting hydroxy-acids, stem cells and other hydrating ingredients, the Antioxidant Facial combines combats redness, dry/dehydrated skins and photo-aging. What’s really exciting is that this facial can be customised to suit almost any skin type and condition! It’s a great starter facial, or luxurious treatment to spoil a loved one with!
The first step – Consultation
This facial begins just like every other treatment, with a thorough consultation. Once your skin health has been discussed with your therapist, you will be taken into the treatment room and talked through how to prepare for the treatment. Once you’re in the super cosy treatment bed, a heat pack will be placed across your lower stomach and any adjustments made to the bed ensure that you will stay comfortable throughout the treatment.
Next, a thorough cleanse will be performed using the Vital C Hydrating Facial Cleanser, which is a gentle cream cleanser containing a bunch of antioxidants and vitamins to help soothe irritated skin. Your therapist will also have a closer look at your skin during this time to ensure that there are no contraindications that will affect the continuation of your treatment. They will also briefly discuss the condition of your skin with you and run through the next stages of the facial.
The Masque or Ormedic/Signature Solutions
Your Beauty Therapist will then select either the Ageless Total Resurfacing Masque or the Ormedic or Signature Lift Solutions, depending on your skins needs. The Resurfacing Masque is applied with a fan brush before being gently massaged into the skin for a few minutes. You will feel tiny granules moving across your skin which help to manually exfoliate the skin. The masque is left on the skin for up to ten minutes (steam may also be applied) before being removed with a hot towel. The Ormedic/Signature solutions are applied with a cotton swab and massaged in for a few minutes, before being left for up to 7 minutes and removed with warm water and sponges. Extractions may be performed at this point if necessary.
The next part is usually everyone’s favourite – the massage! And don’t worry if you fall asleep during this as most people do! A Hydrating Facial oil and hyaluronic acid enhancement is used to perform relaxing massage movements over the entire face, neck and décolletage are for around 10-15 minutes.
After the massage, it is time for the masque! Depending once again on your skins needs, your therapist will select either the Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Masque or one of the Bio-molecular Sheet Masques. This is also a great time to add on some LED therapy to further enhance your treatment! These can stay on the skin for anywhere between 10-20 minutes. The Vital C Masque will be removed with a hot towel, and the sheet masque will be removed and any excess serum massaged into the skin.
Finishing Treatment and Home Aftercare
To finish the treatment, the Vital C Hydrating Anti-aging Serum and the MAX Stem Cell Crème are massaged into the face and décolletage. This is followed by the Vital C Eye Gel and Ormedic lip treatment. Your therapist will then go through your home care routine and any aftercare instructions that you may need.
